Transfer Polypaint only?

Hi, all. I’m wondering if it’s possible to project polypaint data from one model to another - but ONLY polypaint data. ‘Project All’ messes with my geometry, even when I have zadd/zsub turned off.

If you want more information…

I created a model in zbrush, then retopologized in 3dcoat, and uv’d in maya. Now I want to project color from zbrush onto my uv’d low poly model, so that I have color masks that I can use while texturing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Before projecting, store a morph target on the destination model. After you project you can then use Tool>Morph Target>Switch to remove the geometry projection, leaving just the color.

Thanks, aurick! I’m not having much success projecting onto my low-poly, though. The low poly mesh (which of course I need to subdivide in order to transfer polypaint) has a tendency of getting ‘sucked into’ the high poly mesh, resulting in errors all over.
