Transfer Ojbect A Texture to Hi-Poly Object B [Answered]

Hello!
Starting to get back into ZB. Forgive my ignorance here, but I need to transfer the texture of a femur to a hi-poly femur object that was scanned, i.e. and actual femur. They are very similar and I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to repaint using spotlight.

Can anyone point me to a technique or tutorial to accomplish this. I’m thinking polypaint could somehow do this, but the object B model doesn’t have UVs. Will some of the new features in ZB4 accomplish this?
Thanks,
ernia

  1. Subdivide the low poly model until it has enough resolution to support the texture detail as polypaint.
  2. With the texture displayed on the model, press Tool>Polypaint>Polypait From Texture.
  3. Append the scanned model as a new subtool.
  4. Select the scanned model subtool and store a morph target (Tool>Morph Target>Store MT).
  5. With both subtools visible and the scanned model subtool selected, press Tool>SubTool>Project All. This will transfer the polypaint and sculpting.
  6. To revert to the original sculpt for the scanned model press Tool>Morph Target>Switch.

You may need to adjust the Project All options to get the result you want. For example, by setting the Projection Sell beforehand. Also the scanned mesh must have enough polygon density to support the polypaint detail.

Sorry so late getting back.
Thank you, Marcus!
