Tpose mesh question

Hello all

A while ago I built a dinosaur model- Call it model A. Science decided the proportions of model A were all wrong ( based on new fossil material) so I changed took the same mesh and built model B. They both have the same Polycount, just very different proportions.
Model B has far more detail and is a better sculpt. However, the science has changed AGAIN and the proportions of model A turned out to be more accurate.

I recall that a long time ago I saved a Tposh mesh as an obj and then could import it onto another more detailed model ( again, made from the same base mesh) using the Tpose to Subt button. It worked amazing.

Now, several Zbrush versions later that trick doesn’t work, it says that no matching data is found. What happened?

Any other ideas of how the get detail from Model B onto Model A? I tried the importing trick and its not working for me. Perhaps the models are just too different now?

Thanks

The low resolution meshes must have the same vertex count, in the same order. I’m assuming that you have a combined mesh of the pose you want to transfer, and the model you want to transfer it to has more than one subtool:

  1. Load the pose model that you have saved. This should be a combined low res mesh created by Transpose Master.
  2. Export using the Tool>Export button and save as GoZ format (complete binary).
  3. Load the model you want to pose.
  4. Press the TPoseMesh button in the Transpose Master sub-palette. This will create a new combined mesh.
  5. With this new combined mesh selected, press Tool>Import and select the GoZ file you created at (2). The combined mesh should take on the pose. Note that if you get any warning messages that the mesh will be changed the meshes are too different and this will not work.
  6. Press the TPose>SubT button to transfer the pose.

HTH,
