Who could forget the dreaded Sleestak’s-that moved at a pace that made sloth’s look fast.
A whole slew of characters brought to life with the power of ZBrush. These are client projects, and please note - that “Batboy” in the first photo is 11" tall, the large sleestak in the fourth photo is 14" tall!
hi scott, i love your renders. do you decimate them at all before bringing them to 3ds max? also how do you get the matcap look in 3ds max?
cheers
The “matcap look” is just some Vray render magic, there’s not really anything too complex going on.
Great stuff, Scott.Love it. Sleestak is EPIC
Chicken time!
Cool toys, great ideas
The latest two are really cool.
I also liked the alphabet.
Keep it up!
A pair of recent sculpting projects…
First is Scribe’s stacking whale series:
Second is 8-Bit Zombie’s “Thrashor” figure:
Both were sculpted using ZBrush, of course, and rapid-prototyped on a sweet EnvisionTEC DLP printer.
Awesome stuff, keep the good work on!
It’s “Monstober” so the challenge is to sculpt up a fresh beastie every day of the month. I’ll keep putting them up as they pop out.
Awesome! Great Scribe piece! Love looking at his work, it’s all over Kansas City on the walls up here! The one a day monster, awesome! I tried that a few years back for halloween, wore me OUT…didnt make it either. Then a Halloween alphabet a few years back. (I always wanted to make them into some vinyls!) So do you have a connection with Adam Smith and his True Cast Studio, he is also up here in the Kansas City area.
Nice design, which render are you using ?
GrizzlyJake - thank you, I’m familiar with KS, mainly because my friend and associate, Jeremy Madl, lives there. You probably know him too!
Gabriel - I usually render using Vray in 3ds Max.
More MONSTOBER action!
A few more from the “Monstober” challenge:
Cool initiative!
They are all sooo scary
Lovely work in this thread.
Sir, you are the King of squeezable monsters.
I want them all in the bath with me for Halloween - all with little torches under their chins.
Fab posts
E-e-eh…
Wetterschneider, don’t was in our childhood such an artist as you are.
And there was no such toys. But very anxious!
