can anyone suggest where i should being looking for help, i want to create characters

Do you have any other experience with 3D modeling, sculpting? What level of character design are to aiming for, production model for illustration, or final animation ready model?
Yes i use vectric aspire and artcam regularly, just trying to get better at sculpting, I know the only way to get better is just practice practice
What level would I like to get to? My goal longterm is to be able to do models like that barbarian someone made, most of my modeling I will intend to use for cnc or 3d printing,
I dont have any experience with 3D printing, but many here do, so it would be worth checking out the many threads for the do,s and donts. The software you mentioned does not appear to be working with any type of polygonal modeling, which is what Zbrush does, so some basic understanding of how Zbrush works with polygons would be a good start.
I think the best place to start is to work your way through the getting started manual, as your learn by many mini projects. Zspheres would be a good be to start, then at some point convert to dynamesh. Assuming you have no knowledge of polygonal modeling, you should read up on some basic stuff like polygons, digital sculpting, then start working your way through the getting started manual. Anything character wise your need to have some knowledge of anatomy, this is a huge subject. but one that cannot be missed. A course with Scott Eaton will sort that out if you can afford this, other than that get plenty of references, and a good book like Eliot gold finger Anatomy for artist.
