Hey Everyone,
It has been quite a wile since I’ve posted anything. So here is my most recent project.
this was a study going from photogrammetry to final rendered 3D portrait.

This is great. Grabbed my attention straight away. Well done
Thanks!
Few shots here, closer up.

Wow! Really nice start man
awsome

Thanks!
Incredible work dude, especially like the little hairs across the face great attention to detail.
the hair is a little flat, more volume can sell the believability. Also maybe more gloss, think pantene.
Still such a great render
Pangea - Great advice! Thanks for the feedback.
Wow this is sick. How long did it take you ?
Very nice
Attractive work, but as far as I understand it’s a photoscan with textures applied, isn’t it? Why wouldn’t we just share hi-res photos in this forum?
Did you see the attached process image? Not including all of the work that must have gone into clean up, material, lighting, and the hair. All hair needs to be recreated from scratch. I believe he used Ornatrix to make it. Much, much more complex than just scanning and rendering the scan.
Thanks Guys!
Ceddy- this took a couple months on and off in my free time.
Paul Marx- Correct this did start as a photoscan, however the raw scan model was very messy. After cleanup, it ended up just helping me get the base form of the face. (i have an image of this scan data in the process picture above)
I then had to sculpt back any forms lost in clean up or missing from the scan entirely. All the HD detail (pores, wrinkles, etc) had to be sculpted in as well.
The texturing was done with a mix of projecting the reference photos onto the mesh and free painting. The the texture projection was very helpful but I still had to paint out errors (stretching, overlapping projections etc).
Then after all the sculpting and texturing was done, I created materials and lighting in 3ds Max and V-Ray to get the final renders.
