Topology Lines partially invisible

Hi there!

I am fairly new to zBrush and today looked into the topology feature a bit.

I wanted to edit the existing topology of a model, but I had slight problems with editing and viewing the existing topology (lines).

As you see in this screenshot, there is topology lied out all over, however there is a fair amount of topology lines that are invisible on the screen.

By hovering with the mouse and keeping alt down in places, where there obviously should be a topology line between two topology points, but which does not show up, the cursor actually switches to the delete-line cursor, so I suppose there really are those lines. (Also the preview does not have any holes.)

However, also my moving the points around I could not get those lines to show :frowning:
Also, funnily enough, the hidden topology lines are not even symmetrical.

Anyone ideas what this is and how to fix it? - Greatly appreciated.

Try toggling the Edit Topology button.

Also try pressing Tool>Masking>Clear

Hey,

thanks for the tip.

Unfortunately those things did not help with the problem.
I still have a topology from my old base mesh that has unsymmetrical holes in the display (not in the Tool:Adaptive Skin:Preview though - but what good is it if I can’t edit it, or only partially)

Here another image to better illustrate the problem:

So, just to make sure, here the things I do to get there:

  • Open highpoly tool, go to lowest subDiv (smart resym gives me 100% btw) and safe it.
  • Switch to ZSphere
  • Tool:Rigging:Select Mesh and pick my highpoly tool there
  • Tool:Topology:Seleect Topo and pick my lowpoly tool there
(- Toggling Tool:Topology:Edit Topology and Tool:Masking:Clear, just to make sure)

Any help really appreciated, because like this I can’t edit it, nor do I really want to completely lay it out new again.

Cheers,
k.
