is there a way to “convert” my topologie curves to a “selection” for masking out my model?

If you use an alpha you could mask by alpha. http://docs.pixologic.com/?s=Masking

Really, you read and understand all of that but looked no further? What is your model? You can easily make polygroups from masked regions. You can alter unmasked regions.

you´re right… it´s better to create polygroups from a painted mask…
