Tool "duplicated" accidentally and can´t be edited now

I know this is may be a easy question to answer for the most of you, but i just started using zbrush and have no idea what happened here.

I started working on a model, set up reference planes, divided my tool into subtools ect. everything fine. i saved it both as tool, project and document.

But then during sculpting when i moved around the object, it suddenly duplicated and existed twice ( as in the screenshot below). i don´t know if i accidentally hit a wrong key or something but now i can´t switch back or edit the second object, not even when i reopen zbrush and bring back up the project and tool.

I´m still getting used to the workflow and the interface so i don´t really know if this is qualifies as a “problem” at all, but i´ve been googling for 30min now and can´t find anything similar ( partly because i don´t know the right term to decribe what happened)
And i really don´t want to start over again and i hope you can help me here.

Thanks a lot in advance

You probably hit Shift+S which snapshots your model to the canvas. Just clear the canvas (Ctrl+N). As Edit is on you’ll be left with just one version of your model which you can continue to sculpt.
