Tool Deforms when I try to export?!?!?!? (it also appears deformed in preview)

Hi,

I’m having a really strange problem, each time I try to export my tool it distorts and I have know idea why. I have tried to save it as an .obj, .dxl, .stl but the same thing keeps happening: The face deforms slightly (though a little is a lot as it is a portrait sculpt) - on the left is the good copy, on the right is the deformed copy. I need to print it out but cannot due to it deforming when I export.

Also the same problem occurs when I ‘make poly mesh 3d’, clone, append to another tool, in fact it seems to be something to do with the space it occupies rather than the tool itself, the tool appears deformed in all preview modes (small pic of tool when you hover over on sub tool and material section). I have tried unifying the tool, which does not change anything either - please please help!!!

Anyone?

Are you sure this isn’t simply an effect due to your perspective settings? Compare your model with perspective on and off (hotkey P).

Hi Marcus,

Many thanks for taking the time to answer - your right, it was the perspective (I pressed hot key P). I had no idea that it even existed  is there anyway to make the actual model to save like the perspective view?

Thanks again!

Well you can use the Tool>Deformation>Perspective slider to deform the object but I really wouldn’t recommend it! In the real world you always see things in perspective and the same would be true of a model rendered in another 3D app.

Thanks again Marcus!!,

So I should always sculpt with perspective on if I will print them after? what focal length is a good place for the perspective slider to be at? (which shows realistically what we would see) it seems a little fish eyed - do we really see like that?

Many thanks

Sean
