Tool behind canvas?? (answered)

Is it possible to avoid this problem. The tool intersects the image which is the canvas.

You can bring your tool forward in the z direction either by using the deformation palette and adjusting the z offset. Or you can go into transform MOVE (shortcut: W) and drag on the canvas in a blank area - lmb down while dragging down - the tool will come forward. You may need to drag a few times.

Edit: I need to add if that plane with the image is actually a subtool and not a backround image dropped to the canvas then the transpose/drag feature won’t work, it will just move the group together. In this senerio you need to select the subtool you want to place in front and use the actual transform/move widget line to drag the item you want to be forward. But its easiest just to select the subtool you want to bring forward and use the Deformation>Offset>Zaxis button, dragging it to the left a few times.

Just to clarify what Nancyan says, if the image has been dropped to the canvas you can bring the model forward by:

  1. Turning off Edit.
  2. Turning on Move. The Gyro will appear.
  3. Click and drag outside the Gyro to bring the Model forward.
  4. Turn Edit back on to continue sculpting.
