Toiletman WIP

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen.
This would be my first post here save the “I NEED HELP!” posts I spammed the forum with in earlier days

This is a character I’ve been working on since a long long time ago, on and off, mostly off  Until now I used MAX only, but lately I decided to Zbrush the head, and of course, the rest of the body will come into the Zbrush Smashing Shop soon as well

This is the original model:
CgTalk.com WIP thread

This is the displaced and textures head after Zbrush work (Rendered, reluctantly, with MR… I very much dislike MR - Bad displacing, bad shadows, terrible TERRIBLE AA… but Vray has no SSS worth mentioning)

And this is a short animation testing the old morph targets and the material:
Short MOV animation

That’s it for now… I would very much appreciate C&C, both about the ZB work and the MR rendering work.

Thanks!

Hi Opeth!

Very nice expressions in the short anim!
I looked at the original model of this on the CGTalk thread, and can’t wait to see what you do to it in Zbrush - very nice modelling indeed.
My only crit at the mo is that the top of the head is a bit too square.
I look forward to seeing more of this one!

Exellent anim. Expressions are great

If you can get your hands on a book by Jason Osipa called, “stop staring” it’s a really good source for max and maya alike. Some of it’s dated but still worth looking at.

Your expressions are good and I like the crow’s feet wrinkles by his eyes. I think you should add some more wrinkles for his age and make it a bit more noticeable in the neck area. Old people’s necks look a bit weathered also. He’s in his sixties right?

I’d like to see him with the hair like in your concept drawing. What are you planning on using for that? What version of max are you using?
