been a bit busy, here is a quick female torso I did for practice. Will have more soon.fin torso render 800 .jpg

Hey there man!
I like the green character - very cool design and pose.
The torso have some problems but it’s a good try! The shoulder blades, neck, clavicles , chest (the rib cage, especially when the pit of stomach is) are major problems I think. But with a quick sketch things like that shows up and that’s good, it makes you to look at the alerted places more carefully with other sculpts.

hope it’s ok to point that out

Thanks nebular, Ill definitely keep what you said in mind for next time :D. Your critique is always welcome

This was a concept sketch by Mike Corriero, I love his work :D.
The concept was based off caterpillars, after getting some feedback from Mike, I decided to add the back abdominal segments and a post-abdominal spine (barb that comes out the back)

Here is a sculpt of Rob van Dam, a wrestler on TNA. The likeness is close…But it definitely can be closer. Ill probably go back to it later :stuck_out_tongue:wip3.jpg

looks great.
i love the colors of these materials and how they are blended together.

Nice to see this… I use exactly the same process; one thing I didn’t see mentioned, (which I’m sure you do too), is rubbing out stuff on each of the layers that distracts or doesn’t work.

Good job

thanks Patpotlood glad you like it
RawSunlight: your absolutely right, definitely had to wipe out the extra reflections

Love your sculpts… I use similar techniques with my artwork - but to a lesser degree…

heres another one :stuck_out_tongue:Final 3 quarter sln.jpgas2.jpg

Hello people, its been a while. I decided to get into the Anime 3d fan art challenge on Facebook. Should be a good opportunity to hone my skills and rub shoulders with some other artist in the contest :stuck_out_tongue:

For my entry, I decided to do Rukia From the anime Bleach in her bankia form (spoiler for those that don’t read the manga :P). At the beginning it was kinda a train wreck since I didn’t have a solid direction, but now I think I’m doing ok. I blocked out her body and added her clothing already, but I think ill still go back to the body and teak it till I’m satisfied with the proportions…Some things still look a tad off. But since the body under the clothing isn’t going to be seen I have a bit of leeway :stuck_out_tongue: , but of course ill still make everything the best I can.

Also her hair turns white during her bankia transformation, but I don’t think it translates to well in 3d if I make her hair white. well see… For now ill just leave it black.

Here’s another update on Rukia for the 3d anime fan art contest on facebook. Still alot to fix, hopefully ill finish.rukia progress9.jpgrukia progress10.jpg

Had fun working on this, I went with rukia’s normal black hair instead of white when she transforms. I saw many color variants on the web, Mainly her in all white but decided to make my own color scheme for her.

Over all I learned alot and will continue to improve

cheers
