Tileable offset question

Hello everyone
I am trying to use layer>Displace to offset my plane tool and paint out the seams while remaining in edit mode.
Problem is ZB drops it’s to canvas as soon as you displace :frowning: and I can’t even save out the tool at it’s newly displaced location. So, as you might see, it’s quite frustrating. Is there anyway to displace and work on the 3d mesh then displace is back to the original location to further work on it in 3D?
I work on a lot of tileable textures / objects so this info would be really useful.:+1:
