Hi Bas,

Time well spent I say… Great image.

Sven

Great

Hi Bas,

Like the plant!
Maybe you can think about the background.

Ralf Stumpf

I have been “itching” to do some plant life too. You did a great job. It looks like it was alot of work. I would love to know how you did it. Your dew drops look good as well. So many times these are a little heavy handed.Tight!
To be critical of the overall image though, the background does not feel environmentally correct. The wall does not seem that far away yet there is so much atmosphere. I would suggest retaining some of the local color and saturation of this wall but add a super blur. Not only should this give a more realistic feel to the image but also give a greater sense of depth.

Great work!!

Yeah I know about the background :frowning:
I took the wrong layer while working in the dewdrops, and before rendering I saved. This because the many crashes of ZB. Also strange, first the rendered file was about 13mb. The same file was rendered now only 3 mb,
grrrr.

Awesome work :+1: How the waterdrops were made?

I tried this waterdrops for the first time. Aminuts gave me this link.
But take care with the layers, mine went wrong.

looks photo-real to me Baz excellent:+1: :sunglasses:

I am from scothland and I love this very nice work…do a haggis next.

Looks good, even with scary spider, looks good.

Are ya gonna redo the back ground? If so gonna wait to save that one for my wallpaper, if not I’ll take this one, I know how much work had to have gone into it!!!

Keep on playing, I love to see what ya come up with next!

No thumbnail this time Bas ? :stuck_out_tongue:
I saw your thistle on a the plant-speedsession before and it looked good then, now it looks great :+1: …so does your spider !
Yes working with layers, a big format and transparency can play havoc on Zbrush,…i can only hope that future releases have their focus on the painting and rendering aspects of Zbrush…not only in making it a 3D-extravaganza !

jantim

Very realistic thistles, Bas. I know I don’t want to touch them! The spider looks cool too, although he reminds me of a barn spider not a garden spider…Either way, it’s a great naturalist piece…

Dickie

Nice! Lots of work and attention to details. But I think the background needs some work to come to terms with the quality of your foreground object .

Dicky
This is a cross-spider. I found it dried in a corner of my room. Normal they live in the garden, but when the winter arrives they look for shelter in houses and barns. Sometimes you find it in your car, coming down in front of your face while driving on the highway:grimacing:. At ZSpeed Session: Insects you can find a bigger example of this creep

I looked in the speed forum. Great spider! He is indeed a garden spider. I did not notice the pointy butt in the thistle render. I love spiders. Where I live in
Los Angeles we have a lot of Black Widow spiders. I find them beautiful as they are all shiny and black and the red hourglass is very pretty. They may be venomous but they are actually afraid of people. They usually run if you get near them.
I gave a widow a high-five once. She was wandering along a wall looking for a new place to nest. When I got near her she slowed down and tentatively raised her foreleg. I gently placed my finger up to the leg and she slowly touched the tip of my finger with her leg. I then moved my finger away and she continued on in her search for a new nest. She was quite sweet actually…

Pilou

The thistles got now more room in the meadow. Maybe I have to add some flowers, some flies, some birds… Its like a WIP in a WIP.
