This is a Sketchbook

sahil_raptor - thank you!

Santis - thank you much!

sizzle - thank you! hopefully i can go to Italy someday soon and see some of those for myself.

michalis - i’ll look into the hands, i still haven’t decided exactly what to do with the ears, so i haven’t really touched them. thanks for the tips!

modeling is mostly done, probably just scratches and engravings or something on the weapons and things, but i might just do that when texturing. still not sure how i want to texture him. any suggestions or critiques are always welcome.

just playing a bit with zbrush rendering.

Do the scratches and some simple texture, try a cold hard rim light instead (via PP) and have a masterpiece. Its a first quality sculpture dpeteuil. :+1:
Bronze seems to be the right material here. The natural choice.

it’s looking great man!
maybe it’s me, but I think his arm is a tad too short…?
nice zbrush render btw.

Hi

This work is superb, well done !

well done!!! Excelent Esculpture!
congrats

great character and modeling - to me the way he’s holding those arrows is strange but I can see why you put them there

michalis - thank you! that’s for the tip, what’s PP?

d_lavega - thanks! you’re the second one to say that. i went back and checked and both arms are the same length, but maybe something else is making it appear short.

kargall - Thank you!

arthurduque - thanks!

Intervain - thank you much! understandable, it’s not something you generally see, i hadn’t seen it before until i was doing a little research. i was trying to figure out where the best place to put the arrow bag was in terms of speed, so i was trying to find real life examples of archers who could fire many arrows in a short amount of time (instead of just Legolas) as seen here this is what the ancient Huns used to do. nothing else i found even came close. so i liked it and it seemed to fit, so i used it.

i liked the idea that he is more of a short range archer, where if he needs he could charge while shooting off a handful of arrows then whip his sword out or something like that. i actually thought about doing this, but i liked what i have more.

i just forgot to mention all this in my last post.

Awesome! :+1:

asecbrush - thanks!

taking a break from the centaur, blocked in colors for Johannes. no hair.

johannestest.jpg

He looks so sad!

Jerick - haha. yeah, he is sort of supposed to. it’s a tribute to the oscar nominated Austrain film Revanche(trailer on first page of this thread). so this supposed to sort of represent his emotions throughout the film.

well with more extraordinary good luck, my computer parts keep corrupting and i have a lack of funds for new ones, so i had to revert to a system from 2006. it’s not very good, so i can’t even open or work on my demo reel files. awesome.

so in the meantime i did this little study/ sketch. nothing too special

Beautiful work.

Floydshayvious - thanks!

another study/ sketch.

so this is the texture i have so far for the centaur. still might work on a few areas and i’m probably going to add some simple tattooing . just need to figure out the designs. any crits or suggests are more than welcome.

color1.jpg

I think some simple woad-like pieces would look cool, or raised brand markings to designate a tribe maybe.

Then again it looks wonderful on it’s own. :+1:

very nice, no crits.
i like the head!

i guess u r going to add a bow? everyone does that wrong.the string should be very close to the face.

good luck

Nice new models. I also like the way you textured the shirt of this guy, geometrical designed pattern is a little tricky, I know.
well done :+1:

that woman bust looks very natural, congratulation
