There was a young dragon called ......

Hi everyone

ZBrush is so cool, I feel like Dr Frankenstein! I’ve only been using it for a week, but that’s virtually all I’ve been doing, All week! (Luckily, I’m on vacation!). Anyway, meet ‘Monica’. I have absolutely no idea why she is called ‘Monica’, but having spent the last eighteen hours creating her (See, I even sound like Dr Frankenstein), I had to call her something! (She actually started off as the ‘Head’ in the ‘Box Modelling’ tutorial of the Manual, but I got sidetracked!!

I’ve done all the colour-work again in Photoshop, as I’m still getting to grips with Zbrush’s colouring and texturing tools. I must say though that I love using Photoshop’s blending layers, hue/saturation, and opacity alterations to colour these models, but I guess I will have to bite the bullet soon and start using ZBrush so I don’t have to spend hours colouring each time I want a different pose!

Incidentally, just wanted to mention that I’ve found a new use for Zbrush! As the best ‘Art Mannequin’ there is! I pencil draw and have found that the Zsphere modelling is brilliant I can’t think of anything else or any other program whereby ANY kind of figure, of any proportions can be created and posed so easily, and it’s even a quick and simple process to produce an outline for tracing.

Ah well, back to the laboratory. I’m sorry, I mean ‘computer’.

Hey Darrell

Nice effort…Feet look a bit webbed, like a duck…like a “me’ duck”…

grrrr  that’s pretty damn good for your first week.

i can totally dig the going off on a tangent mid tutorial thing:D .

oh and yeah get used to not sleeping…you have caught the bug…it means soon even though you ARE sleeping…you will dream in zbrush mode…which means that while dreaming whatever it is you are dreaming…a part of your brain will be thinking…“can i do this in zbrush” then you will be forced to not here your alarm so you can keep dreaming so you can see all angles, lights, textures, mats, and decided if you can or not!!!

hahhaah good luck and keep it up!

Hi Darrell, welcome. I’d say you’ve got Box Modeling down. great creature. 50.

Hey ‘8BitBoy’, I join a ‘World Wide’ community, and one of the first messages I get is from someone just down the road! Anyway thanks for the comment ‘me Duck’. Give my regards to everyone you meet in Leicester.

‘Aminuts’, you are so right about in your comments. I can’t over emphasise to people what an amazing program it is, and I’m thinking about what i can do in it continuously. It’s the creative outlet I’ve been searching for and the possibilities are endless! Oh, by the way, I saw (read) the eloquent way you dealt with the ‘AH’, ‘Realitycheck’: Nice one!

And ‘50’sKid’, thank you, I STILL have to do the box modelling tutrial, this time without going onto one of my own models again!

I take it you weren’t aware Pixologic are actually based in Beeston then?..

You’re kidding, right? According to all the contact info, they’re based in LA, CA, which (as nice as Beeston is) isn’t exactly in the same district.

Your right i was kidding…or being sarcastic…never can tell…

Quite nice  I really like how you can easily develop a model in this app.
