Just a fast idea, a sketch, how a warrior could look like.
Sculptris and zb for this one.
You’re the last two sculptures are really great Michalis, bravo. Very nice rendering too. small_orange_diamond
Man that last one is a killer! Very powerful … love the background as well. Keep em coming, please!
Cheers,
David
Michalis, how rude of me … thanks for the Terracotta material! I will play with it tomorrow, off to a Christmas Party at work!
Al the best,
David
Hi Michalis
Just stopping in to say…Really enjoying your last two pieces posted…Great technique …You are onto something great with these expriments and explorations…Your work really stands out in the crowd…in a very nice way…
Awesome emotion captured in that last one posted…don’t even need to see the eyes, the mouth expression says it all…Great job…
Glenn
Cool skulpture! Really like hte look of the material
Thank you
@kargal, @chalkman, @SD, @santis
Some more doodling, one hour most. On grecoroman portraiture again, not copies but inspired from lot of them. The best IMO, the more inspiring I know. Renaissance never made me that happy (except Dürer). No render tricks on these LOL
Great job on those last two Michalis…Lots of character and emotion projected…small_orange_diamond:)
Thanks SD, some more are coming soon.
Your work is so consistently beautiful, even the gargoyles.
Also thank you very much for the help and for that wonderful matcap.
Cheers!

Whoa! … really exquisite! I love the hand and wrist coming out from under the draped fabric! Cheers, David
hi michalis,
Real nice sculpts, and beautiful rendered inside zbrush with a very nice matcap
Best
Daniel
@ michalis I haven’t tried that mask by density yet will have to look into that…
Am trying really hard to get the cycles render working, all I get is very washed out renders ???
I do for sure have my poly count high enough… thanks for reminding me though…
I really like the face of the warlord, a great character, very powerful impression…
Thanks chalkman, skaale, blueferret, always a pleasure to read comments from zbrushers that are seriously into art.
BTW @ blueferret, cycles isn’t like this. I could help. blender 2.61 latest builds from graphicall.org are strongly recommended.
Here a 10 mins render / cycles. Yes, it’s superior to BPR, easier to setup a scene and most importantly it’s a physically correct engine. Meaning that it presents the real volume/lighting of sculpture.
Imported as retopo cage (3dcoat) + displacements. No PP on this one. Cycles is a beautiful render engine.
I love your Greco-Roman miniatures; and (with apologies to BPR) your latest render of the dancing terracotta figurine is superb and the model itself is enchanting. Furthermore I enjoy that these are not copies, or studies of items from antiquity, but are modern originals, done in the idiom.

Thanks Rory_L, you incredible illustrator!
No apologies to BPR, it’s not fair. BPR is a fine useful tool and must not be compared with physically correct render engines. Let’s not forget that I needed to retopologize it, to paint and bake these maps first. Who claims that retopo is needed for animation only? How could I UV and export it otherwise?
I call this my best sculpt. No need to agree, it’s difficult for me to explain in english or with words anyway what I mean.
A merry christmas to all of you.
From Heracles, my dog, as well
Hey Hey Hey…Ho Ho Ho…Merry Christmas Michalis…:D
Hercules thanks you SD.
Meanwhile, something for christmas LOL
My entry to sculptris fun challenge “santa was an alien”
Sculptris and zb, retopo 3dc or blender, rendered in blender-cycles.
A satyr. Doodling again. In the way I can have some fun.
