I’m pretty sure for Expose3 they have to be original models, not a duplicate of something that’s already been done, I have the same reference sculpture pictures here, fully realised with full paint jobs. Still, very nice likeness!

I as an artist,I know better then to copy every inch of him and claim it as my own. I think you guys know that to. Also, as an artist, I know that sculpting that toad doesn’t give Mr. Page exclusive rights to toads now and no one can ever make another one again especially posed as such. Know what I mean? It silly. Inspiration, oh yes…without a doubt. Duplicating him for my own…now come on, this is me guys…like I am some noob. :rolleyes:
Now don’t get me wrong, if the shoe were on the other foot, I too would make sure someone wans’t going to be riped off of their work. So I know where the train of thought is on this.
No, I have a whole new texture and Hi res modeling method in store for him. I have me a frog and toad book here that is going to be the source of the final work on this guy. A combination of them, like Southern toad, Argentine horned from, and asian leaf frog. Maybe even Fancy marking like on a dart-poison, I mean after all, he is royalty.

I like it Mike…since I’ve been gone awhile, I haven’t seen any of your work since the sleeping dragon you made (gosh, was that 2 years ago, or so?). Very well done. I think what Stringer meant was simply that “The Toad King” is an established character. For you to make a similar character, who is a toad, and is a king, perhaps a different name would help in addition to the originality of your modeling and texturing. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s what I read from the comment.
Even still, I want to see this finished!
