The Three Dancers

Hello!
In this Post, I am going to talk a little about my latest work The Three Dancers, and how I created a set of different poses using the same mesh using the new Pose Tools for ZBrush made by Reallusion.

The idea was to create a piece with very dynamic poses. I like to experiment a lot when I’m sculpting and testing new techniques on my models, both in terms of sculpting and painting, and the pose is a factor I like to play with, bringing the character to life and imagining it in the key moment of determined action, trying to make the sculpture as loose as possible in all aspects, and whenever possible leave space for the spectator to imagine and complete in their mind while observing.

In the video above I show the whole process from beginning to end.
Until next time…
Tchau!

Beautiful pieces. I saw the Realillusion vid a few days ago.

I’m curious as to why you didn’t use the Accurig IK/FK to do your posing? It sort of defeats the purpose of using CC4 if you don’t take advantage of the rigging tools instead of the transpose workflow.

Hi, @DannyMcGrath, glad you enjoy it
There are several approaches that we can use and test. Here the idea was to show a way to test different possibilities using the same mesh to try the new the PoseTools plugin.
But we can definitely use Accurig too. I encourage everyone to try the different possibilities that the tool offers, it’s a lot of fun.

@Deryck Thanks, yes, I have CC4. The Accurig and Zbrush bridge work fantastic. I was just curious, really, as obviously an IK/FK rig is far superior than posing with Transpose, although it makes sense for those that don’t have access to CC4 and only the ZB pose plugin.

Either way, it’s a really exciting workflow. Thanks for your thoughts. :+1:
