Low poly meshes I am creating from the high poly mock up. I pre chamfer the edges in my retopo so they will mostly stay sharp.

And some polyframes of the torso pieces.

Good Job, I really like your retopologised model in the last picture. :+1:

really nice sculpt man iron man is my favorite! i like where this is heading! keep it up cant wait to see the finished piece

Poly Frame Update.jpg Making something this segmented is really a learning process. Slowly banging out the rest of the retopo pieces. There are 4 subtools in this picture, seperated into Helmet Arm Chest and Torso Areas.

…videos!

Glad you enjoy them

Some poly frame progress I’m making on the hand retopo

Finished hand retopo!

A Medley of images for your viewing pleasure.

And a few more.

Looks like it’s coming along nicely! I look forward to the end result.

@skdzines- Finishing up the leg. Should have some poses and renders by saturday

I usually cut the retopo section out of my timelapses but I figured someone would want to see it. so here i have the whole shape built. Now im going in the crisping edges by adding additional loops.

Proportion comparison with some Phil Saunders Concept. Comments? Crits?

If your doing proportion comparisons, you’re better off comparing it to the actual Mark VI model. Check out Ian Joyner’s website, there’s a nice orthographic image of the suit.

Looking really good Willie! Keep going with this man

I see a few things proportionally:

his head in profile looks a bit large, and I think you could raise his chin(rotate head)

His chest feels a bit in line with the rest of the torso, I think maybe adjusting it a little bit to create a plane break in the model would be helpful.

Shoulders arent as pronounced at the cap, the drawing is more volumous

Some indication of the latissimus area in the back view would give him more shape imo

Upper leg in the side view could use a little more curvature, right now it looks very straight.

good work man! i agree with the guy above, some body propotional modify is needed

Omg Thank you for the info guys. Those refs can’t be beaten. He literally made the model

Sorry for the lack of updates. Got engrossed in a side project the wife wanted to watch me make.

W.I.P For Appa from Avatar the Last Airbender. Doing two versions. One with fully sculpted fur detail and one with fibermesh fur.

appawip.jpg This is the base sculpt I made from a zsphere rig then dynameshed.
Appa Fur Render.jpg Next up I began testing fibermesh. I hadn’t played with it too much so I was very happy with my results.
Appa Fur Render3.jpg I eventually got the entire body done and groomed.

285209_601363729877384_1555424631_n.jpg Next I began testing the lightcap functions. using a small image i genereated this from inside of Zbrush using BPR. Thats really when I wanted to define the fur further.

Body Fur Test.jpg So I’m at the point where im just adjusting the fur and grooming.

The final models wll be posed with an Aang created by Jeremy Ortiz.

Been Seriously lacking in my updates. All the in between can be found on my facebook page over at www.facebook.com/artofwilbertpierce in the WIP Album. I’ll probably update the thread here with the images ive made leading up to it but heres the final render of my Darksiders 2 Fanart. Have to do the render passes and comp at a higher res. But for now. Voila. Render Breakdown in another album on facebook.
