Defined the details of face, around the eye, jaw/muscle/teeth, started work on his ears, but errased and need to go back to drawing board on how i want them and how to get the details without the pixols becoming blocky.

I’ve also worked creases into the skin folds off the stomach, can’t make my mind up if to add more, and his belly button has enlarged some where along the line so I need to correct that.

still loads of work to do on the host, but I may go ahead and start and texture and materials to the main Character, before finishing the host.As I have a feeling that once i start to add life to this guy, the concept for the host could change.

I’m also toying with the idea of having the skin peeled back accross his chest, to expose some more muscle fibers. Comments on the idea, would be a help me make my desicion.

Thanks

the good = your details and crispness
the bad = your form (to blobby / flat)

mind u i skimed through these replies, so i appologise if its ment to look very flat and stylistic in terms of form

Thanks for the comments jeckle. Which parts do you feel are flat? I want the bulkyness there as he is to be overweight, I acually feel that his arm muscles are to defined and probrably need lumping out a bit to accentuate the flab.

But where you say the form is flat, I can’t quite see where you mean, other than maybe his head looking a bit squared now I look at him.

but thanks for the feedback, it’s what i need to get him right it’s been quite a leaning curve doing a full figure.

…to illustrate the seven deadly sins?

Hi Frenchy Pilou: good to see you in the thread;) Yes, I guesse this will become a project, as I have ideas for Avarice, Luxuria, and Hubris which leaves me envy / Wrath and sloth to ponder upon their designs.

just knocked out a render of the character in profile, I’m not to fussed with the back of him as it won’t be visable in the final piece. All comments on improving him welcome

[![bodyprofile.jpg|762x571](upload://pnJkWJaf6kIgUxGex6XpOxoZVT0.jpeg)] thanks

if u take a cylinder and covered it in fat, itd still have a circular organic form, while most of your form is pretty good and look sto be getting better the problem is that while making someone flabby you’ve also made him rather square, but not overlly square, take the forum for instance it lacks the cylindrical shape. Flab sags and what not, but it also still holds true to the human form, i like ur defintion and youve got a nice model comin about but some areas just seem a bit squarish rather than organic, i hope this make sense :S

The head is starting to take shape. I realize you havent started the fine details on it yet, but I think some sores/decay would be a good look for the face. As for the body, I think Jekkle is on to something. I dont think the problem is that its too square though. I think the issue is the muscle. The upper legs and upper arms seem a little toned. You should try to make the flab hang off the back of his limbs like its hanging off the lower back. Its coming along really nicely though, and I cant wait to see the finished model.

Thanks Jeckle: I understand what you mean now, I’ll go back and work over bits. one probem, I’ve had for this is finding decent reference images, of large or overweight bodyforms. done a google image search, but nothing of much use. I’ll do another search and see what i can find.

in the mean time i’ve started to texture him. all very rought at the moment just get a feel of what he’ll look like. Can also now see i need to work on the bandages a lot more and also the folds in his trousers.

thanks DarkMessiah; all these comments really help me see where I’m going wrong. I totally aggree with you on the arms, they are over toned and need to sag more. that was the first thing I was going to correct.

I’ll get back to you all with the results

Hey Panstar!

Looking good so far!

I think this pic illustrates what some are talking about in terms of hanging fat, muscle definition:

[fatman.jpg]

See the way his arms have little definition, and his chest sort of melts into the rest of his body…(I hope he’s not on this forum:confused:)

I hope this helps.

Jit.

thats great Jit: the sort of refference image, I’ve been looking for, but the only ones I’ve come accross like this have been to small to work from.

And yes it does show, where i need to work on him. Thanks:+1:

Try this…

…the 900 club…sad… just sad…

this is very helpfull, I’m doing searches on obesity, Fat Man, Overweight, even Jabba for skin folds. and non of these images show up.

But yes it is very sad, that people can get to this.

Thanks

HI All

been working more on smoothing and rounding off the bodyform, working from the refrences you kindly found for me. I managed to find a few of my own as well. I have also added detail to the bandages on his right arm, still need to do the left. Comments please

Good to hear from you mate. I like the suggestion above, and I have actually been toying eith the idea off having McDs burning in the background, but thought someone might get funny about that idea.

And yes, I have been charmed with a dark spell for this one. Thanks for you comments:+1:

Hi all

ok I’ve moved back and re done the texturing, as i can see better the areas i need to work on. this is the just the head area. And already i can see that i need to sculpt more on the upper lips and around the the eye. The nails pinned into the gums i feel could do with being smaller and i’m not 100% happy with the staples. But he’s getting there and begining to show some life.

i meant to of added this link for what appears to be a very handy image searcher. however because its in flash it poses a problem when needing to save the images and the bottom “go to image link” doesnt seem to work. so its screen grab i guess

but i thought i will share, only found it the other day

Sweet. Its really starting to look good. Might I suggest a little more depth in the teeth area. They seem a little flat. Perhaps some darkening of the gaps between to teeth would help?
