THE RiSiNG (eva 01 head)

Hi, nice work, actually it’s amazing.

By the way I’m new at presenting my work using zbrush mat cap. May I ask what are the mat caps that you used on this, specially the one that has a hint of blue.

I almost have a similar work and I wanted to present it the best way withou losing the details.

This is a very well deserved TR!
This will make a great print, I really hope you do print it. And I also would like to see a picture of you with your cap on

Evangellion Unit 01… THE DEVIL HIM SELF :rage:

fantastic model Grats on TR. cant wait to see it printed. on the subject of floating bits… ive had to create a zpheres structure to make sure everything is connected.

would love to know who your going to use to print.

wicked!
your work is always inspiring, glad to see this piece finished!

oh my goodness you are a beast! Great work super inspiring =)

Wowie! this is insane! :grimacing:

great finish Seb, can’t wait to see it printed :+1:

Fantastic job! The detail is gorgeous.

awesome works!

Thx for the comments, I’m very proud to be on top row after all this work (thread started in 2009:grimacing: ).

Rodion, yes its inspired by the Evangilion artbook, but a freestyle version.

Nickz, I used my projection master technic at 90% to detail my model. The base modeling is very basic. Mots of the work is alpha stampning, a bit of line drawing, and few Ztool stamping (like the architectural tutorial).
I sometime make custome alpha from custom sculpted planes, so they fallow the surface curvature once apllied on the mesh.

Rhythem02, you can find my materials in the zip file.
The plastic matacp comes for shader called L03, Im sorry but I have no idea who made it…
The metal material is not a matcap actually. Its a standard shader that has been tweaked to incrase the spec and reduce the diffuse intensity. The ligthing is from zbrush lights (theyre in the zip file). The blue tint is done in photoshop, bout you can just add a touch of blue directly in zbrush if you want.

Here’s another rendre I prefer, with the metallic and glass shaders.

I’ve been waiting for this to go top row for a while now, congrats.

Hey, first, beautiful model! Truly inspiring.

Second: in your first posts of the pillars for the stand you had a catwalk, is there a reason you took them out? I thought it was a cool way to show scale, just a thought

Well deserved, congrats!!!

Yea this is probably one of the coolest thing I’ve seen. Keep up the amazing work:)

Outstanding outcome and process.

So much for the eyes to feast on.

I hope you can do complete eva !!! your work is most amazing !!!

Nice Job

One other thing, I saw your moodsheet, but how do you go about designing how the pieces fit together? Do you do rough sketches before hand or do you just take your moodsheet and start modeling on the fly? Are there other references you use for inspiration, or do you just have a large library of functional machines in your head that you just pull from that?

Awesome work really inspiring!!! :+1: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=870589#
