The new Zclassroom training video

is great but where is the Tpose mesh button and decimation he talks about in 3.5? Did I miss something?

Why does it have to be in STL?

Why does it have to be under 250 megs?

How much can I or should I Decimate? If my computer can handle non decimation is that ok?

I assume you are talking about Sculpting in Zbrush for a 3d Printing with Jeff Feligno. First off in order to get the Tpose mesh, and the Decimation Master that he is talking about you have to download them from the Zbrush plugins page. And you have to place them in your zplugs folder which is found where you installed Zbrush under the Zstartup folder. The .stl, I believe is just the format he picked, I was looking under a few different 3d Printing company websites, and I know one said you can send your .ztl right to them and they will export it out, others will take .stl and .obj format. Being under 250 meg is probably for a couple reasons, 1 being that file transfer, 35 megs is a lot easier to transfer through FTP upload or e-mail rather than 250 megs. And if it is a higher size, it has more of a chance screwing up on the receiving end. As for how much you should Decimate, it really depends on you. The lower you decimate the lower the poly’s, which means lower file size, but after awhile you can start to lose some detail if you start going to heavy with it. The only thing you can do is toy around with it and see what settings work best for you, how much can you decimate it until you begin to see flaws. Jeff took his mesh from 14 million to 670,000 and he still kept very good definition. You really should not decimate until you have your final image that you do not want to sculpt on anymore. Hope this helps a little.

Hey Audio,

You forgot to mention that that can only use those plugins in the 3.1 version of Zbrush.

I did not know that, I do not have 3.5. Thank you for that correction.
