Hi,
Cool modeling and beautiful renders:)
Wow Simon, love the new piece, and thanks for doing a making of.
Also wanted to say thanks for answering my questions a while ago (Just saw the thread again recently), it definetly helped alot.
Your works are very nice very creative done. I am a new comer for CG modeling pleas give me a some information about texture “diffuse”-“ Normal”-“Displacement” ext. I’m Max user. Thx. Sampath
Very excellent work!
Really funny and the textures look wet and slimy! lovely lighting and details in the scene also.
Keep on Z-ing!

ZOMG! This is awesome, Simon, you have a very unique style! ^^
And one more thing. No More Wine? Deserves to get to the front page!
Digg in, fellas: http://digg.com/movies/No_More_Wine
thank you for your nice quick overview, I really appreciate that.
Yes, it seems to be the SSS+disp is perfect for that, I just can’t test it - dont’ know what to do, I am linited with Windows Vista 32bit and have only 2GB of RAM, and Vista eats alone 1GB.
I am not capable to use high res meshes for my render tests - mental ray crashes because I have not enough RAM… to sad…
so, I would love to use the displacment map with 4096x4096 on the low res mesh… but what ever I do, it doesn’t look like the high res, well, not really a bit close…
the weired thing is, I know how to use the displacment map in vray, and my stests worked perfect with vray… but I couldn’t find a way doing it using mental ray…
so, how to you assign the displamcent map to the mesh ?
in the material ? as a displacment modiifier ?
I wanted to use the sss+, but for some reason, not enough RAM.
so now I am looking for a soluiton, how I can use the displacment map on my low res mesh with mental, that’s my only cahnce…
any short tut ?
thx a lot for every litte help
Hi!
Here is a little making of no more wine!
Have fun!

hey Simon,
quick question, what exactly is a “scene assembler”?
cool stuff man, really dig the presentation of the process as well.
Punn
Hey Punnw!
Scene assembler is basically everything except animation and Fx, that mean you have to be a good 3D generalist, to be able to do modeling, texturing, lighting , post production etc… and have a lot of knowledge in all the 3D process basically
i love this job because you can do all the steps of a picture creation, i just miss the animation (I love animation) and fx, but i do them for myself
Awesome picture and thanks for sharing your process!
very nice works !
