F I N A L L Y ! !
Congrats man - WELL deserved
Hi Simon, good stuff. Another rendering question sorry. What kind of light set-up do you use?
Unbelievable. I don’t know the last time I have been on here and seen something that inspires me as much as this does. You have just provided me with pretty much every desk top image I will need for the next year. Keep up the great work!
beautiful renders simon, i love all your sculpts, very cool stuff. can you talk about how you do that…post effect on some of your images? they almost look like i should be wearing 3d glasses or something, i cant explain that look but it makes your stuff look even cooler. is there anyway you can explain how you obtain that look? looks great.
Are you rendering in mental ray with just FG?
really enjoyed all your work, great sculpts, great renders i like it all very much, very cool stuff.
Wow thanks for the top row… glad to be in the gallery !
Thank you all for the reps, verry apreciated and its nice to come back with new stuff !
so here are some answers :
WHW_ >> i usually use the toy plastic to do my polypaints, it keep the colors neutral, but not for my passes
for my zbrush renders, i try to recompose the basic passes we know in 3d, like skin mat, one with a good specularity, one other with a good lighting etc… and i try to comp all that in photoshop, using them as masks, or simply melting them!
3David >> i use the Dam standard brush a lot for hard modeling, i try to do my shapes in one line, they stay clean and i don’t have to fix all the defaults after, but it’s like one try…ctrl+z … one try… ctrl+Z… until i find the shape i like
Delmo >> i use 2 or 3 photometric area lights in max with mental ray, final gather and mental ray exposure control ^^
Never Met a german >> hehe i think two things help , first a subtle sharpen bring the picture an accurate look, the second is an RVB displace done in post production, to add a realistic feeling to the picture ! i think it may come from these two things
Thank you all again !
here’s a very verrry speed done at lunch time… nothing crazy but wanted to share !
I love seeing someone who knows how to use the pinch tool. Cool sketch.
Waw! You have an inspiring-5 stars-sketchbook
Well performed art with amazing speed and quality!
thankns for sharing and
… Happy birthday dude!
happy birthday and congrats on the top row simon! you deserve it man, your works are of constant inspiration to me!
I really like this one.
thanks for the tip, guess i was doing exactly the wrong thing.:o
and HAPPY BIRTHDAY:D
Wow! Image the work you could do if there was a wacom in the toilet!
Honestly very nice work, considering how good your sculpts are I shudder to think of the crazy skills the modellers at your studio posses.
Wow! I missed seeing these, my eyesight is going at my age. Truly wonderful faces of expression. These facial masks pull out wonderful emotion towards the characters that is definitely in contrast to many of the concepts. This is a rare gift in anyone in any work. My humblest apologies for not recognizing your work sooner - it’s a real treat.
damn, this erhh. … creature (your first images) looks so “ugly” great work. the skin is amazing, too
and i like the crab very much too. didnt recognize those many beautiful images at first…
Perfect 5+++++++
Compliments Mr. Blanc,
Your style is amazing. Great works.
Mattia

Wow!AwsomeThose are some really nice renders, the specularity looks great.
Hi Simon,
Amazing work, could you tell me or explain what is a RVB displace?
Thanks,
