The Last of Us - Character Sculpts (+ images Pg 8 & Pg 12)

Wonderful work all around - thanks for sharing!

cool!thx…

You have crazy sculpting skills. We are the same age so I hope to have that skill soon then I know I will get a job. Can you tell me how long it took to sculpt these characters? I think they allow 1 -2 weeks per character at studios. I wish I can compliment on the game but it is sold out where I live so it must be a good game.

these are phenomenal. great work dude. You got to be a part of a great game.

That’s amazing work. I never really appreciated how much time and effort went into making game characters until recently. About the game itself, a friend of mine has it and I got to play with it last week. It’s nothing short of a gaming miracle, well done on a great achevement.

great works compliments!!! :+1:

Excellent work!

pfff…very very bad…ugly models…ugly game…as usual…

…I am joking of course…Excellent work and excellent game !
I specially appreciate the artistic/technical quality of your characters but not only…the emotion in each cinematic is awesome.
(good character + good dialogue + good casting/acting + good animations + good lighting/shot = very good cinematic)

Thx to you and Naughty Dog’s Team for this exceptional moment

Great stuff!

Wonderful job!! Memorable characters!

Couple questions about Henry and Sam’s hair… I notice that there’s sometimes a nice soft silhouette during cutscenes. I recall you mentioning that you didn’t use alphas for these two characters hair, so how are you achieving the soft silhouette? (I also noticed this in the first Winter scene where Ellie shoots the Rabbit, the Rabbit seems to have a soft silhouette as well). The hair also looks pretty dense, are you guys using displacement or is it just a ton of tris?

Thanks, and again fantastic work on this game all around.

Awesome stuff! I’m very inspired ^___^

such incredible work on this game.
Fantastic job, you guys!

Wonderful work on the characters guys, same goes on environment props and level design direction.
And welcome to ZBrushCentral Soa, nice to finally see you around here. You improved your style a lot, I can see you learned new tricks from Michael and team.
I think Bill was very fun to work on and you did a great job on it ^^

Everyone involved with this game deserves the plaudits they’re getting, and the guys here are no exception. Outstanding work.

Look what arrived in the mail today!

I’ve been patiently waiting to look at this thread as I’ve been playing my way through The Last of Us, which I just finished last night and just looking through your work on it has completely blown me away.

I can’t believe how well realised and engaging the characters are, and I mean that in every respect - the writing, the voice acting, the design, the modelling, the texturing, the rigging, the animation - absolutely all of it is astounding.

Hats off to everyone at Naughty Dog for making what could be one of the best games and gaming experiences I have ever had - I genuinely didn’t want it to ever end. If I’m gushing like a delirious fan-boy it’s because that’s exactly what I am.

Please keep doing what you do!

Amazing stuff again…And is it possible to see wireframes too? It was amazing how the characters performed in the game…

DUDE awesome work

can you give me some tips on how you sculpt what brushes do you use
what techniques, ?
Do you use dynamesh with your work or qremesher or DIVIDE?
what brushes do you mostly use?

You guys at Naughty Dog are really Zbrush Grandmasters!!! Your characters are really beautiful and inspirational.

Hope you will make a making of DVD of your zbrush characters some day and I’ll be the first in line to buy a copy.

Cheers and really look forward to your future zbrush artwork.
