I chose this creature as my subject for a mentorship project with Krystal Sae Eua http://iamsadpanda.artstation.com via the Mentor Coalition http://thementorcoalition.com

Over the course of 4 weekend sessions, she guided me through a ton of helpful approaches, techniques, and artistic tricks in zBrush and Keyshot, and helped me bring this creature to finish. It was a privilege to watch her work, and learn from her. Once completed, it was chosen to be featured on Sketchfab’s blog artist spotlight.

I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that this is one of your most complete compositions so far. Great amount of detail in every aspect of the sculpt. The fill light is a little hot but it does give it a shiny, fresh-out-of-the-water look.

Great re-imagining of a classic monster and a great sculpt.

I never heard of this mentorship program. What turned you onto it?

Thanks Wyatt. A friend suggested it to me. And I figured it would be a great way to strengthen skills, and learn new ones.
