Hmmm… don’t know what you are referring to… ‘small cam’ ???
Lemo

Sorry my english

I mean this comment, only I have no foam to exchange

“I’m happy to make a video tut in exchange for some foam”

My profession is to sell CAM software but more in the automotive no artist at all.
But for my privat interesst I was searching about ways to create quality reliefs from images (portraits from people), there are some tools around like stenza, artcam, rhinoart but all of them expensive and in some way limited to this relief work. Then I have heard about Zbrush or maybe 3DCoat, I have never used this kind of programme (but other CAD and CAM stuff).

Regards
Daniel

Would you be able to export out a life size zbrush model so that it could be use to make a mold for a monster silicon suit? I think if possible that would be a really cool way of making monster suits!

No much to it Womball. You can get Kit’s in the craft stores. To make it look fantastic… it might take a long time. Makeup artistry and sculpting skillz have to be on the top side to make something else than a fatal blender accident 8))). I know what I am talking about… I once tried to make a dress makers mannequin for and with my wife. Boy did that go wrong. But we had a lot of fun  .

Lemo the Ling of Blender Accidents 8)))

Ok You rule Lemonnade, just had a poor man’s braai with mu=y kids " barbeque"… wou;d love a richman’s cam, but must trust a users advive, can I go for a Roland? Advice needed… Life’s hard but sweet…

Ziggy in the jungle…

I’d like to eventually make these, http://www.compositeeffects.com/

Smooth-on silicon seems to move really realistically. Its a littly uncanny!

But I have a feeling that is harder to work with and a lot more expensive than latex.

Hi everyone,

well it’s been too quiet on the workfront for the past 6 months but we’ve just landed a BIG job.
I can’t give too much away at this point but I will post pictures each week of our progress. The first ones will be on Monday. Even if I can’t spill the beans you will quickly get an idea of what we are creating.
We have 8 weeks to get the job ready to put in front of the cameras and there’s only 6 to go.
We shoot on the weekend of the 18 & 19 April, and I’ll post photos from the shoot days so you can see our creation in action.

Keep tuned to this station…

John

Oooops, did I say Monday…I meant Friday!

Time gets away so quickly.

More photos next week.

these are really cool !

Man that last week had 32 consecutive days in it!
We’ve just filmed the commercial on the weekend in Queen Street, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The shoot was for Allens confectionary and featured our giant 30ft tall walking doll. Her eyes moved left/right, head left/right/ and up/down and her eyelids blinked, these were all operated by remote control. There were 2 people operating the arms and another 4 to make her walk. A large telescoping forklift or telehandler was connected into her back. This enabled us to move her forward and set her feet at the correct level to the ground.

Here’s the process from start to finish I’ll post a few messages with lots of photos.
I hope you enjoy seeing the process.
Our 5 axis router ended up cutting over 100 separate pieces for the doll.

After the polystyrene was cut we put a layer of epoxy resin over it to seal it up then covered the pieces in polyester fibreglass. The pieces were then all split and the EPS cleaned out then they were faired, sanded and the mechanical components placed inside. This saved us the moulding process time.

What a great thread! FANTASTIC work! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

The only component that was made using a mould was the head as we needed to keep all of the detail perfect. The face is more complicated than an arm or leg piece.

This is easily the coolest work I’ve seen Zbrush used to produce

Congrats LLLGuapo and Johncox85, if you guys ever need an offsider the Mack would be there in a heartbeat

The mechanical pivot points were the most difficult to get right and required a lot of time. The components were drawn up in a CAD program which made the steel fabrication fairly straight forward.

reminds me a bit of the work of that street performance company Royal de luxe but with a High teck take on the process.
thanks for sharing this John, would love to see the finished thing.

Here’s the finished puppet on the streets of Brisbane.

Oh, we started off scanning a real doll then manipulated the image in zbrush as I am a real novice with zbrush. The hair was done using zbrush and really helped smooth and style the pigtails.

Any questions just ask.
