The First 3 zSpheres, always problems..

Im sure theres been plenty of post on this before, but most responses I’ve seen are usually, "to close off the mesh you have to put a zsphere on each side of the first/root zsphere. However, just tring to get 2 zspheres on each side and still actially closing off the end doesnt work for me 90% of the time. sometimes I get lucky and it comes out the way I would expect. But normally, the mesh is either twisted at the end, or it maintains the hold somehow…

Are there any tips for constructing the first 3 zspheres. Perhaps I should mention that the spheres are connected in a line fashon. like O—O---O in ascii art.

Any help is greatly appreciated, as I have no trouble with zspheres after I get past this hurdle.

well, as is normally the case with me for some reason, 2 seconds after I ask a question, i figure it out myself, eventhough this has been a headace for the past week.

so heres my method …

  1. create first root zsphere and snap so the line is vertical
  2. Turn on symmetry ( ‘X’, and then turn on another one ‘Y’ or ‘Z’ depending on which way the sphere is facing ).
  3. after all 4 circles come to a center, drag out a new sphere, but dont hold shift to snap !DONT YOU FORGET IT! i havent experimented enough but so far making them smaller than the root sphere works. Also, if you dont see 3 faint grey circles around your new centered zsphere, then its going to make a concave hole, ctrl-z and try again.
  4. rotate the root sphere around to the other side and snap into position using shift
  5. repeat #3

done.
