This piece was inspired by the people of Nagaland. There’s a picture of this old lady who looked like a little fairy, with such kind gaze, so I used that as an inspiration and although I borrowed a lot of her actual features, I left some room to change a few things here an there.
I find deep inspiration in people outside of the pop culture. Genuine people, virtually unknown, who lived rich lives in their own simple way. I like paying homage to these types of folks, instead of going for the celebrity stuff for easy clicks, popularity and more followers. This world is becoming an empty shell and from time to time I will pay homage to those characters who inspire me just for being who they are.
Everything hand sculpted and hand painted in ZBrush’s HD mode. Shaders, lighting, grooming and render in Maya, using XGen Interactive (so buggy…) and the incredible Arnold Renderer. I hope you like it.
