Pilou
Spooky movie, Pilou. Remember the last line: ‘YOU’RE NEXT!’ 50.
Five Oh,
Kevin McCarthy has a fan-site. According to them, he’s still making movies, his latest: “The Ghastly Love of JohnnyX”. Yipes! - probably makes him yearn for the old days with the Pod-People.
Sven
Cool, Sven. It’s good to know he’s still doing what he loves. He must have a great sense of humor. 50.
Hey way cool sneak preview!! I can’t wait for more teasers!
I am certainly glad you took the day off!!
I wish I had. Man did it suck to drive. It started snowing yesterday and its still going strong. I video taped my drive home cuz I figured it would be interesting. There were no roads just white stuff with some tire tracks to follow and ya hoped the tracks followed the road! It’s supposed to worst around 3 or 4 am here. I’ll have to snap a pic in the morning when it’s lighter out.
Anyways it was all worth it to come home and see the preview!!
I loved creature features, twilight zone and shoot there was another one that had the creepiest stories ever. I can still remember one about a rocking horse that still gives me goose bumps thinking about it.
gotta love those bad old B movies!!
Popcorn and m&m’s for me please!!
Hi 50.
great theme, can’t wait to see the next step.
Ralf Stumpf
Hi aminuts and Ralf, gotto go back to work today. It should be interesting. I drive to work in the dark and come home in daylight so I can enjoy the winter wonderland. I’m working out ideas to finish this and my mind is wandering to the next one, …maybe ‘Invasion of the Saucermen’!
Haha the way it’s snowing around here it might have to be
Invasion of the saucersleds.
Ha, ha, I’m heading out right now to watch my Neice’s kids go sleding at Grandpa’s house. Then back for some more Z. 50.
Hi everyone, well, I decided to do another movie poster version. Having been a collector of One Sheets, their actual size ratio is 27"x41", so this is my own custom EXTENDED version. I found the site below with some really great Earth, Mars, Moon Maps and they are royalty free.
I first loaded the bump map as texture-made alpha and inflated, then combined the Earth, Clouds, and City Lights in a 2d app and applied that. I hope ya like it. 50.

hi 50,
i think you make a good job.
Maybe you can make an alternative typography for the poster.
it’s a little bit to clean for the pulp fiction age.

Very cool!!
I like how you did the earth…well I like it all:D !
Thanks!
Hi Ralph, yeah, this is more of a modern Speilberg remake.
Hey, thanks aminuts. Now I’m back at a blank canvas again. 50.
Cool picture Rich…and perhaps a bit to cool,
Let me explain :the material on the robot, the saucer, and the typeface are to
much alike…to much “cool” metal-grey !
But its a good composition …now i’m waiting for “the invasion of the saucermen” . ( with lots of red and outragious typography…
)
jantim
Hi Jantim, I’m kinda torn between ‘Saucermen’ and ‘It’ from ‘It Conquered the World’. Two great old Sci-Fi designs. I have models of both a few feet away so I have great reference. I’d love to do just the severed hand with the fingertip syringes and the eyeball on the back. I wish I was good at people so I could have it crawling up the girl’s back. I’d better stick with monsters. See ya. 50.
My vote…Underwater Kingdom…i think it was called…it was kind of a flash gordon for the sea if I remember right…it took me 3 weeks to remember the name…hopefully I got it right but it had a robot too I think…hahaha. Very silly show…it might have been 30’s or 40’s when it came into being. I think it would be a great candidate for your poster series (which I am a closet collector of )!
I have the entire series for Underwater Kingdom!!! Picked it up before the Holidays and was waiting for a slow day to watch the whole thing in a marathon session.
Hi animuts, and Jason, that sounds familiar, I’ve never seen it, but I remember some pictures from the old Famous Monsters Magazine that the title brings to mind (if I’m not mistaken) Did it have little squatty sea creatures? Now you have me curious, I’ll do a search. The 30’s and 40’s movies had some great hokey robots.
And aminuts,…collect away!! Later. 50.
Haha Jason when you do get around to your marathon session you will have to give us a review!
