The D-Project [DRAGON-PROJECT] is a little name i came up with to call my current project. It of course is a dragon.
The following image is of the ZSphere model. More images with follow.

Here is the Mesh Preview; Density 2
CURRENTLY NOT EDITED IN ANY WAY
[color=DimGray]I donāt know about all of you guys, but I think my little creation seems to have some what of a related insect appearand (in the wings).
Well please all keep viewing my updates, as there are many more to come
The D-Projectās first update.
What do you think so far???
I managed to fix up the wings and they no longer look like ābutterflyā wings.

Very interesting to see how others go about things⦠I am looking forward to see how it ends up. Do you have a particular drawing or image in mind as a reference??
Hi mattybyng,
The reason your wings donāt look quite right (i.e. butterfly wings) is that you are using a body plan based on insects, in which the wings are not homologous to the other limbs.
In flying mammals and flying reptiles (a.k.a. birds) the wings are actually modified forearms.
For example hereās a bat wing - the wing is actually the forearms and the skeletal structure of the wing are modified fingers:
The most convincing flying monsters are ones that use a modified five-fingered forearm as the basic structure of the wing. This can be seen clearly in the āmutant goblinā from Rackham shown below:
If you really donāt want to go with a quadrupedal dragon in which the forearms are wings, you might want to look at the dragons painted by Peter Dickinson in which the wings still have a āfingeredā structure:
One general problem with dragons is that the wings seem too small and flimsy to lift such a large animal off the ground. I think this problem can be seen in your model. For this reason I have seen some dragons with wings that are very small miniaturised appendages that just operate as steering mechanisms during flight. This is often found to good effect in the more serpentine Chinese dragons:
Hope this helps!
Cool. We all love Dragons!!!
If it might be of some help I started a thread some time ago and hope to get the time to finish and show more that might be of interest.

In no way am I trying to influence your character, just passing on info.
Thankyou all for your replies.
Zoetrope Thanks. And no, this idea just came off the top of my head. I think that plans donāt give you enough space to move if you know what I mean; well thatās my opinion anyways.
micke Thank you the most. Itās great to know there are some great people put there suc as yourself who can really help you out. Your ideas are well appreciated and i made the wings much more proportioned and it actually looks as if this being could get itself off the ground And please with my next update send a reply on what you think of the update
Jason Belec Thanks to you aswell for your help. I took a good look at your dragon and think it looks great!! Your wings kind of inspired me a tad.
Thank you all again for the replies and support. Please stay in touch as more updates are yet to come.
The following update show my dragon with much larger wings; it actually looks as if this beast could get off the ground
Please not that I am still working on the wings, and that these are not the final pair
BAD NEWS ALL!
Whilst working on my Dragon in the D-Project, my computer went through a difficulty problem and several bad things happened.
One of those terrible events was the corruption of my Dragon file!!! AGH!
This was rather upsetting.
Sorry to those who wished to see it finished but I will let you all know now I have started a new project and I hope you all look forward to it.
