the position of the Christ is wrong. I mean his right position is with his feet joined. Then the render of your model is like plastic or gum, not good with your background which is realist. I think you can do better !!

I think you can remake the texture of him. make it more nasty.

Where are emotions? Where is the pain?
k.

That’s what I was thinking.

There is nothing serene about being nailed up like that. He was a perfect human not a numb human.
He cried out “why have you forsaken me”. He felt pain and agony while hanging there.
That type of execution puts a huge strain on the heart (The heart was known to burst under the strain and breathing was difficult.) Imagine trying to get a good breath… You have to transfer your weight to the nails through the feet. Imagine the pain you would feel. The nails were roughly hammered shapes. Not the smooth nails we have today.

I guess those paintings show how those artists wished it was.

Now show the reality of that situation in his face and body and you will be closer.

Wanted to edit my post to make sure you realise that I am just offering suggestions and not being negative about what you are trying.

i think the first thing to take away from the example pics it the platform under the feet. i don’t think a body can support itself with just nails with out ripping itself down. which wouldn’t be the roman torturer’s intention. the platform makes the weight distribution in the paintings plausible.

great subject btw - it’s just that you end up taking on some of the best artists in history, so the stakes are high.
