Here’s another concept design for a sculpt i plan to do, as well as some practice before i leap into trying realistic human heads. (could also be what happens to people who hang out at XXX theatres too long) Anyway C&C is much loved. Nick.
great model. Nice texturing. only sugguestion would be to work on the ears a bit more and add more detail to it.
great job nick. i wonder what hospital a guy like that would go to to get stitches in his head. what did you render this with?
I remember it was a soap on tv, and the Tales from the crypt (I’m not sure), this carachter looks like , a bit !!! Funky !!
Looks cool.
I think the ears look fine. And the glossy wet parts on the lips and eyes and nose really add to it.
My constructive criticism would be to work on varying the texture as it goes up over the top of the skull. It looks like that should be blurred a bit more or stretched out or something. It looks like the base texture pattern is too regular and consistent across the whole piece. Try to vary the density of the pattern for different areas. Under the eye would be more dense and large flat stretched areas like the skull would be less dense. looks great though.
Hey, thanx heaps for the comments guy’s, it helps me so much in improving on my next piece!
Industripop- He’s all rendered in Z best render with three lights all set on GI shadow, then some tweaking of contrast/brightness.
Kiabosh- I agree with your comments on texture. In hindsight i should have had some reference pics of skin on hand.
Beerking- Yep, i’m not 100% happy with the ear, as i got lazy and added it after dropping the head to canvas (cheater that i am, not a true 3D model) should have use multimarker.
I need to step-up and grab myself a copy of Maya or another program to really move forward, being new to CGI stuff as my background is Traditional “real world” sculpture. Cheers, Nick.
