How are you? It does look Ok, I recommend that you create a different mesh for the tail and insert it as an “Insert mesh” when you press the letter “B” also way before doing that make sure your character is convert it as “dynamesh” you will found that over geometry. Keep inmind that the lower is the number the more drastic the change will be, all doe, if you have Zbrush 6 you can “Zremesh” the character, but first sculpt it really good or as the same polies as the character so it can mesh correctly. And about the hair you can grab Zsphear or you can use the “fibermesh” mask what you want. Then change it with the fiber mesh or just mask it and sculpt it as you did, here are some examples friend.
