this was done almost entirely in zbrush, and rendered out in max. I couldn’t decide if I wanted him to be victorious or defeated, so I made both versions. Hope you like it!
nice texture and rendering !!
Awesome!!!
nice work, would love to see some zbrush shots.
Really nice lighting and shading! I like the structure of his face and the modeling overall is good too. One crit would be that the veins seem a bit inflated and plump lookin. Again, nice work!!
You’ve certainly captured him in both instances, however I find the victorious version works better. The lighting on the defeated version seems rather flat in comparison - hope I haven’t missed an obvious connection you may have intended. If you do ever revise this, my major crit would be the blood. It’s a little light coloured and doesn’t appear to come out of cuts but rather, is splatted onto the skin surface.
I’m sure I’ll see this on the top row soon enough. =)
I would mix the two. Have him all bloody with the champion pose. The first one looks like he just stepped on stage. The latter like he just got off the floor. Bloody victory ftw!
I really like the shaders and lighting. The sculpt is cool too.
I would suggest reducing the intensity of the cavity map though. It is especially distracting on the waist strap. It is very strong and sharp. Something softer and more subtle would help. On some areas of the body, cavity seems like lines are drawn on the skin (especially on rectus abdominis and under brachioradialis).
I think both images are very nice. I prefer the victorious one, because of the camera angle and the row of light in the background; guiding our eyes to his face. Nice composition.
Fantastic work!!
Sweet!
Money bet on this, top row in less than a day.
(deservedly so)
That’s punching!
very nice, just 1 thing - looks like you used a very thick brush for those veins of his. oh, and just a tad too much blood, and should be more on his top lip & chin than the sides of his neck.
love the SSS. beautiful otherwise!
I totally agree, IF your going for a single shot. If you want a before and after this is perfect. I think combining them would give you a stronger image but both are awesome
great rending and testures man, congratz.
your skin shader is awesome and the anatomy is really good.
Unreal work man
i think the blood is a bit over the top on the second pic, especially the drips on the chest
they don’t seem to be coming from where he is cut
i also agree with above, a bloody victory pose would be fantastic
Fantastic work! My favourite is the first picture.
Great modeling, texturing and lighting!
thanks for all of the good crits. i agree with all the blood comments and the cavity map being too strong. i will tone down the blood. I will post the zbrush mesh later today
Thats looking really good. I do have a suggestion about the skin - maybe the cavity is too strong on the areas that are defiying the muscles. Otherwise, well done!
Sorry, you already replied about the cavity - my bad:)
