The Black Pearl

No eyeballing for the joints.
I knew from experience what I needed to do (how I did it with traditional busts) and I tried to apply that within Zbrush. The square male and female sections need to fit tightly so the bust sections don’t twist or fall apart. Get familiar with the deformations (tool palette) if you want to joint like this, and the transpose master too.

Thanks,

Hey bLawless, I browsed your site… Wow! I many really cool Works! Compliments!

Hey Brandon!
Awesome work all around.

A question about the keying of the parts. Did you start the model with the keying in mind, in separate parts? Or did you somehow separate the parts and add the keys after the fact?

Thanks!
~Mike D.

Your models are all very very inspirational and soo well done too! I totally love the indy bust so much…it really made my day! Awesome work dude! :+1: :+1:

Those are top notch sculpts! your work is inspiring!!! well deserve top row, I’ve been wanting to get in the collectible biz for a long time and you are opening doors for us :)! you are changing people’s mind about digital art.

u r my god.

congrats on top row! this is one of my favorite threads of all time here at ZBC. i love how your sculpts are so detailed in the right places without overblowing it.

Top notch work. All of it. Definitely an inspiration. I look forward to seeing more!

I’m jealous you have easy access to a 3D printer.

Are masters!:+1: :+1: :+1:

You are defiantly a master sculptor
What puzzle me the most is how can you make the pieces fit, I don’t think Zbrush has s a Boolean operation

man! amazing ,your work remenber me that i need learn soo much

thank you!

Lil’sister–i agree with you!

hey bLawless…this thread is astonishing…the busts and the ship prototype is amazing…the indiana jones series is looking great…!!!

just a query…how does that 3d print thing works!!!..it seems to be fun to have a physical model on the desk from the zbrush!!!..:+1:

This is some sweet stuff- and the added complication of 3D printing makes it very impressive.

Craig

Very cool work!

Hey Brandon do you know a toy sculptor by the name of Jay Kyal?
He use to work with me at Playworks.

Thanks,

Garrick Quinones

ow my God. you are a sculpt master.
a question: do you use zb for your base meshes or other softwares? Is there any chance to see your base mesh here?
cant wait to see more from you.

living_for_cg: I use 98 percent zbrush. I used Maya about a year ago but I rarely need it now. I am taking a Maya modeling class, though, to expand my knowledge. It may be faster to do some hard surface models in Maya.

Thanks for all the encouragement and comments (everyone).

Just got a chance to look at these new pages (the Prince and the Indy pieces). Absolutely incredible. Looking forward to more!

Brandon did you work on the “Horror” line for Gentle Giant?

That new Freddy Krueger Statue is all sorts of cool!

I would love to see the Zbrush model for it.

Very shocked by your talent.

What really floored me in these post’s beyond the amazing sculpts is how you break your pieces apart so cleanly.

Wow! :+1:

That Freddy piece was done by Gabriel Garcia. He did much of it in zbrush then he made a few changes in wax. I agree it’s all sorts of cool  I’m sure he will be posting it up at some point and I’ll email him right now about your comments. I think his username here skeleton2000.
