Thanks for all the comments. Taking something from the computer into the real world is a lot of fun - sometimes. Hope everyone likes this.
Gentle Giant Studios is making this one a reality.
Here is a picture of the 3D print of the Black Pearl. Its about twelve inches high (guessing). It has several cuts in strategic places. It has been cast in resin with the only ‘clean up’ being keys so that the entire piece fits together (roughly).

was that pretty expensive to get done?
Sweet! Is that going to be released as a toy?
If so, I hope you get to keep a copy when it goes into production!
I pity the moldmaker though That one’s going to be a pain in the butt.

i wish i could make the same in bronze (maybe around 118 inches)
that would be amazing
nice 3d printing btw
Nice work. I can’t believe how clean the print is. Is that right out of the machine, or does it get polished up by someone? How many pieces was it when you sent it to print?

Here’s the Prince from Hellboy 2.
This is straight output, then resin, then into my hands. I used an exacto knife and threw this piece together in about 15 minutes. There is a missing spear blade, front sash, and the head should be set in further.
Anyway, the final will be cleaner and done properly.
