The Art of Oliver Pabilona

This sculpt is based on a classic painting by Jacques-Louis David (1748 ***8211; 1825) titled “Napoleon Bonaparte Crossing the St. Bernard Pass in the Alps”.

Sculpted and Rendered in ZBrush and composited in Photoshop. ^^’

It took me quite a long time to finish this. I hope you folks like it.

beaultiful sculpt man!

Wow. Worth framing!

Just some ZDoodling today. I don’t have any particular goal other than speed and just free-sculpting.
I think I should do this exercise everyday and see how far I could go in an hour or two.
Also this year I should focus on sculpting originals rather than sculpting from concept art. ^^’

As always Comments and Critiques are welcome ^^’

Absolutely great piece of work man.your thread is super awesome.love the Roman Archer & the Napoleon.looking forward for your next jawdropping works.:+1::wink:

Hello folks, this is my latest sculpt.

Sculpted, Rendered in Zbrush. Post work in Photoshop.
The final render is supposed to be in Keyshot. But due to technical limitation; I rendered it in ZBrush instead. Keyshot is pretty rad though.

Starting sculpting from the concept is pretty typical; blocking, sectioning, and so on.
The challenge is substituting the pattern he used on his illustration, the spine from the head all the way back to the tail, and the bone formation on his chest. I have to substitute that with my own design.

This is based on the illustration by “Nebezial”, which is obviously inspired by H.R Giger’s design for the Alien Trilogy.

Very very nice!

This is really an amazing concept and perfect sculpture. But equally impressive is the render in Zbrush.

Would love to see how you setup your materials, lights and render on Zbrush.

Vlad
