Texturing tips?

I’m wondering if there is a way to get the textures being used via spotlight to wrap/deform with the mesh being painted? Anything similar to the wrap mode for stencils? Stencils are only for alphas, not painting, correct?

I have folds on some pants and a shirt that I need the texture to displace with those folds. Any advice or other tips to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.

I would really love to know how emo17 achieved this for the ‘photographer’ in the top row.

Thanks!

use your painted texture as a guide to sculp or use the mask. You can try to use a mask refering on your Texture. But I think, for folds, you have to sculp them.

Thanks for the reply DerLandvogt. However, it isn’t the sculpting I’m having an issue with. I have already sculpted the folds and everything on the jeans using various methods (stencils with wrap mode on, brushes, alphas, etc.). However, from what I have seen, you can’t use a colored texture as a stencil with wrap to paint with. When I use spotlight to paint the jean texture onto my sculpted geometry, it doesn’t really flow with the shape of the geometry and therefore doesn’t look natural.
