texturing resolution problem

I am texturing this character in z brush 3.1.

texture looks fine when i get in the model.

to do the painting work i converted from texture>colour. and did my painting corrections. But after converting from colour>texture the texture distorts.

your mesh doesn’t have enough resolution to hold the texture data.

each vertex holds 1 pixel of color.

If you’re using a…
4k = 16 million polygons
2k = 4 million polygons
1k = 1 million polygons
etc

it depends on the resolution.

what you need to do is type in the texture resolution. under texture menu
=> then make a new texture…your texture will turn white…or whatever color you have selected…dont worry

=> then do color->texture and you will get the actual high res painting you did

i was already working on 2k with 4 million polygons. the last subdiv was 7.

first off, subdivision level is irrelevant when you think about it.
anyway, even though your model is 4 million that doesnt mean you have a poly per pixel layout, are there more denser areas of polys in the hands/face etc
