texturing questions...

Hi! I have modeled a simple robot with a simple armor (subtool) and I was wondering what is the best way to give them some texture? I need to export the whole tool (robot + armor) to 3d max after that (.obj). I only need to paint the robot in white and the whole armor in red.

Tried polypaint but as its 2 subtools i dont even know the propper way to make the uv maps for everything and stuff.

Ty for ur time.

first u have to downlaod uv master,
then follow the steps of uv master and it does all uv maps for you.

both sub tools have a own uv map then. then u have 2 textures for each tool. after you have a uv map u can polypaint on a very high subdevision.

the uv map needs the lowest SD.

the less polies your tool has in the lowest SD the easier it is to creat an uv map.

if uv master is not exact enoughe try headus uv layout. best way to unwrap.

u dont need 3dsmax for the whole uv and texture processing.

if its a single color jsut use shaders in 3dsmax.
