Texturing questions with this model

Hi everyone from Spain,

My english is not perfect so be gentle, i´ll try my best.

This the model i´m working on, it´s not fisnished yet, no pores and more stuff. My question comes here:

I´m trying to find the proper way to texture it inside zbrush, but here come´s trouble. If try to do it with Projection Master, everytime i throw it to the cambas, the texture looses quality.

Zapplink gives me the same result

Imageplane is the clearest texture, but it´s insane.

Any help for maybe a silly question, just want to kn ow the better way to texture inside zbrush without loosing any texture quality and resolution.

Thanks and hope you like the model.

The quality of your polypaint is dependent on the subdivision density of your mesh. A higher mesh density is analogous to a higher ppi resolution. If you’re using projection master or zapplink, then it’s also dependent on the resolution of the reference image(s) that you’re projecting. Once the polypaint is converted to a texture, it is then additionally dependent on the texture size that you set in the texture pallet.

Cool model. My honest opinion - sculpt all of the pores and small details before laying down any color. You’ll be able to see what you’re sculpting better without the color in the way. Light will react to the surface more dramatically.

Then, rather than using textures, just poly paint it. Go to the download center, grab a big ol stack of alphas, and freestyle it. For me, projecting textures can’t beat the hand painted look. Do what works best for your work flow though.
