Texturing My Ork Character

Hello fellow zbrushers,

My last post was quite a while back now, cos I’ve been bust at University with final projects and everything, but I’ve finished now, with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Digital Animation…yipppeeee!!!

Anywho, I had a little time to get some zbrush models done, like the one below, and then I realised…how am I gonna texture them?
I use max for low poly model then import into zbrush, do my thing, then export back out for texturing. This has worked on lower polygon models, but they are now reaching between 700,000-and 1,000,000+.

So has anyone got any tutorials or tips onn how to texture in zbrush, so I can export the model with textures back into max, ready for rigging.
I am new to texturing in zbrush, but not too bad at modelling (although still learning here aswell), if that helps.

Thanks in advance

Im pretty shure that there should be some zscripts. But if there are none then i can tell you what i know about texturing in zbrush. First choose a base colour, then in the texture window there are 2 sliders, the width and height of the texture. You should probably choose something like 2048 by 2048 or 4096 by 4096 when working on high poly models, higher texture res the better quality. Then simply position the object you wish to texture and press the projection master button or simply press the hotkey “G”. Turn of everything exept colour and fade, if fade isnt on and you paint near the edges of the model there will be some nasty stretching. Just choose the tool of your liking and paint on, since its dropped you wont have to worry about changing tools but you cant rotate it so you have to pick it up to paint on other areas of the object. To pick it up simply press the projection master button or press “G”, hotkey is faster  when you are picking it up you have the option to change your mind about the changes you made on the model, for example you can turn on “double sided” this if good if you want the texturing to be symetrical on the oposit side of the model. When you have textured the model and you are happy with the result simply export it, that button can you find in the texturing window.

Thanks heggiiman for teh quick reply, but I know pretty much how to use projection master, cos I use it to deform the mesh aswell, such as veins and cracks in the skin.
But is there any way to paint bitmaps/jpegs directly onto the model.
For example I have painted a texture in Photoshop CS2, and I just want to paint it onto the Ork skin directly, and then add tocuh-ups in projection master…is there any way to do this???
