Textures are not showing up in 3ds max 9 viewport?

Hi, sorry new to all this 3ds max to zbrush business. I’ll just explain what I’m doing and then tell you the problem, hopefully someone will be kind enough to help me out

I’m basically creating a very low poly model in 3ds max, exporting to zbrush. Creating guv tiles and then hitting uv > texture. Set up a new texture and then using zapplink to paint my textures. Export the map, then export the model.

Import the model in 3ds max and it appears white. when I click render the texture has worked and in the perfect place. But for some reason it always appears white in the viewport which is really frustrating. I’'ve tried the ‘show texture button’ in the material editor but still nothing. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Would be really helpful!

Many thanks in advance!

Tris

screens of your max material set up would probably help. As well as your graphics card, cpu, os, etc.

have you opened the texture in photoshop?
maybe when you imported the texture to max it was as a psd and you accidently selected a layer instead of the flattened psd image
the solution might be as simple as making the psd into a jpg in ps and using that instead of the larger psd file
only thing i can think of that’s happening is that you’re only displaying one of the layers used in the zapplink process
