Texture - TGA import?

How to import 32bit TGA files without using fbx import?
FBX import has no problem importing 32bit.tga

The FBX plugin does its own conversion which is not part of ZBrush. But here’s a little plugin that will do it for you - it relies on FBX so that plugin must be installed. Just unzip and put the ImportTGA.zsc in the ZStartup\ZPlugs64 (for 64 bit ZBrush) or ZStartup\ZPlugs (32 bit). Restart ZBrush and there will be a new sub-palette called ā€œImport TGAā€ in the Texture palette.

tested and approved, Thank you!

where can we download this plugin?

Hi,

Welcome to ZBC!

You will need a new version of the plugin as this post is some years old.
Try this:

ImportTGA_2021.zip (3.4 KB)

  1. Unzip to your Desktop.
  2. Open any containing folder and copy the ImportTGS_2021.zsc file to the ZBrush 2021\ZStartup\ZPlugs64 folder.
  3. Restart ZBrush and you will have a new ā€œImport TGAā€ sub-palette and button in the texture palette.

Hi,

I’ve just had a look at using this for 2022.0.5 but it fails to find the fbx plugin? All other fbx functions work fine.

I’m having the same problem as dnuzza. Is it an issue with the version of ZBrush being used (2022.0.5) or is it something else? The FBX plugin is working and I’ve even tried copying the plugin folder and pasting it into ZPlugs.
