Texture question 3.5 r3

Hi! This is my trouble: I made a model and did a quick paintover that I like, but didn’t like the sculpt so saved it, and redid the model from the same base and when it was done I wanted that first texture on top of it so I placed it. But I can’t seem to color on top of it. Can it be done and how?

The new mesh has the same look to the original one or not?..if it does have the same look (for example you just make a better topology from the original model) you can just save the texture from the original model and use it back in the new mesh…

but if it doesn’t have the same look, you can use the ZProject Brush to transfer the texture detail…

if you have a texture loaded into tool>texture and you wish to continue painting you’ll need to convert that texture into polypaint.

tool>polypaint>new from texture…or something like that
