Texture paintbrush?

Is there a way to paint a texture? Meaning, the texture is only applied where the brush is applied. I am able to do this in normal 2d paint programs, and am hoping that I can do this in ZBrush also. I’m fairly new to this, so please excuse me if this has been asked before.

You can’t “paint” a texture on while in edit mode. As soon as you select a texture it will cover the object. But you can paint a texture on once you have dropped the object…once you are out of Edit mode choose the paint brush and then the texture of your choice. It will paint on the art same size as the current brush size and same shape as the current alpha. Note that if you drag the brush around it will smear the texture across the canvas. To keep it within the boundaries of your object so it doesn’t paint over the edges make sure you only have RGB selected in the DRAW pallet.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to be able to do so before dropping it. I’ll just have to try other methods of texturizing my object, like learning how to paint! LOL. (I’m not that good an artist, in any medium!)

use Texture Master use simple brush and mess with (stroke Pallete)

In texture master you can paint bmp textures on your object where you dictate via brush placement.

Thanks all! I had already dl’ed it, but hadn’t played with it yet. I know what I’m doing tomorrow!!
