texture be tweeked

Alright so I paint a texture on my model and when I pick it up from projection master the texture goes nuts on me.
Is there a specific thing that z doesnt like, maybe I can fix it if I know what it is. :confused:
I started with a cube and edge looped a few times and those are different poly groups that is where the texture goes wrong. Any solutions for me? Thanks.

Well, without being able to see what you mean by “goes nuts on me,” we can only guess what’s happening. The best guess, though, is that your model is either not UV mapped, or it has bad mapping. For example, Max needs to use a “# of Digits” setting of 6 in order to export the UV’s correctly.

Press Tool>Texture>Uv Check. Does any part of the model turn red? If so, then you have overlapping UV’s. Now press Texture>Crop and Fill. Do the UV’s look like they should, or are the garbled?

Oh, thanks I didnt realize there was a check for that. I havent got it in to max yet, just z brush.
Anyway heres the problem

Yep, the problem is the model’s UV’s.

The easiest fix:

  1. Create a blank texture for your model of the size that you wish to paint on and eventually export.
  2. Press Tool>Texture>GUVTiles

You will now be able to paint successfully.

That fixed it thank you. now I know how to fix that on almost all of my projects.
I did get scared that the timer was in the 200 minute range.:smiley: :+1:
